@{b}Problem:-@{ub}
Have you ever run your Workbench in a colour mode larger than 8?
Then surely you have realised that any true 8 colour icons don't
use your specified extra 4 colours. If your icons do, then they
are 8 bit icons, which take up unnessicary space. But, if you
set them up to use only three planes, then they use the wrong
colours :( This is because @{"IPrefs" link "IPrefs" 0} sets up the extra 4 colours
at the very back of the palette. This caused a big problem for
me up until now.

@{b}Solution:-@{ub}
The solution to all your worries is here! Simply place 256Colour in
your @{"WBStartup" link "WBStartup" 0} drawer. Upon running it, it will check the @{"depth" link "Depth" 0} of
your Workbench screen. If the number of colour is equal or smaller
than 8, then it will quit safely. If the number of colours is
greater than 8, then it will read in the final four colours in the
palette, and re-write them to the correct colour index's, enabling
both 3 bit and 8 bit icons to look their best.
I would advise anyone who uses this program to edit all of their
multi-colour icons so that they are 3 bits and not 8, since they
take up quite a lot of room :( A good icon editor I would suggest
to use is the latest version of @{"Iconian" link "Iconian" 0}.

@{b}@{fg shine}Depth@{ub}@{fg text}
The depth of a screen is related to the amount of colours a screen has. The
number of colours is equal to 2 to the power of Depth. For example
Screen Depth = @{fg highlight}3@{fg text}
No of Colours = @{fg highlight}2 x 2 x 2@{fg text} = @{fg highlight}8@{fg text}
Screen Depth = @{fg highlight}8@{fg text}
